ACETATE BOOTLEGS
WHAT ARE THESE ?
Unlike regular vinyl records, is a so-called acetate disc made of an aluminum or metal disc that is coated with a special lacquer, by using a recording lathe to cut an Audio-Signal-Modulated groove into the surface of the special lacquer coating.
A real time operation for which expensive delicate equipment is need for,(cutting machine) and expert skill for good results.
Acetate discs can be played on any normal record player but will suffer from wear and tear much faster than vinyl.
Every time you play an acetate disc on a recordplayer, wear occurs on the grooves.
Handle with care! That is why there is a CDr attached.
All acetate discs that you see below are not intended as test pressings!
They are made by the bootleg label "XeRocks Records" and pseudo label "Best Bud".
There are not many copies made on average between 25 and 50 copies each version!
At least it is not vinyl, made with a cuttingmachine in the basement.
Therefore I collect acetate discs,....and they are cool.
